Captain Conors thoughts on Sunday

Thoughts on Championship...
I think the championship as a whole has been very competitive teams such as Ardrahan and Turloughmore have been very impressive. It shows the strength of the championship that Craughwell, Gort and Mullagh are already eliminated.
Game that impressed you....
I thought the Turloughmore and Ardrahan match was a great game. Arguably the two form teams in the championship and they really tore into each other. There was great skill showed by both teams and some great score taking. These two will be serious contenders.
Portumna this year...
I havnt seen Portumna yet this year but their pedigree cannot be disputed. They have match winners all over the pitch and they will be a serious challenge. However as Clarinbridge showed any team is beatable on any given day.
Our performance...
As a team we have been really competitive so far. In my view we probably showed Clarinbridge a bit to much respect in the first half . For a finish they were clinging on for the draw and we felt we left that one behind us. In our second game against St Thomas's we really played well in the first half and we were right in it with 10 minutes to go. St Thomas's though are not All Ireland champions for nothing and they finished strongly. It is a game we will learn a lot from.
Finally thoughts on tomorrow...
As we all know we have lost Iomar and Declan to America since our last game. However training has been very good and the lads that have stepped in have really impressed. We have played well in a few recent challenges and in my view we are in with a great chance of toppling portumna on sunday. Please come and show your support.
