Brian Burke shares his thoughts

Killimordaly Hurling Club would like to wish best of luck to Brian and the Galway Minors next weekend, make sure you give them your support
Hurling; Under 10 A 2006, Connacht junior schools hurling 2013 and Ryan cup schools hurling 2012.
Rugby: Connacht champions 2012 u17 with Monivea
What hurler  inspires you?
Henry Shefflin inspires me a lot because when he was young he failed to make his under 16 club team and did not make county teams until Under 21 so the determination he had to work by himself was top class and now look at him regarded as the greatest hurler ever so that's why he inspires me.
What other sportsperson/person inspires you, why?
Paul O Connell also inspires me as his leadership and presence on a pitch is really felt by his team mates and I hope to have that effect someday.
Your thoughts on the game the last day and next day?
It was a very tough fast game and it took awhile for us to
get to grips with Laois but thankfully we did and we finished strong but that game is in the past now so we are training hard and looking forward to play Limerick. We know Limerick are a good team but all we can do is try our best and we are training very hard to improve from last day and we are rearing to go, so hopefully now it all pays off.
All of the forwards scored the last day, how much does that level of competition drive ye on?
The competition for forwards drives me on a lot as even at training its so competitive so when a few lads have scored before you, you are thinking that it has to be you next or just involved in a score or anything.
With history of hurling on both sides ie Dad playing with Galway and winning a county, and the Uncle with a couple of  Counties and All Irelands is there pressure, or do you get loads of advice?
A bit of both to be honest as Dad was the last Killimordaly man to wear the number 14 Jersey before me at minor level so I feel like I have to live up to him but also he gives me loads of advice by bringing me back to the pitch to give me tips and it has helped me a lot.
What was it like getting a start on the Seniors at 17, how much has it help you with county minors?
Getting that start with the seniors was a great feeling and it has helped a lot with playing with minors too as i got to know the pace and the physicallity of the game.
With all time you spend at sport any other hobbies.
Besides spending most of the day at the pitch I like to relax watching TV or meet up the lads for awhile.
