We would be most grateful if you could encourage and invite your members, family and community groups to participate in one of the upcoming Spring 2014 Golden Mile of Galway Talks and Walks.
This is a new initiative organised by Galway Rural Development and Galway County Council to help people of all ages to enjoy their area and to learn more about nature and local heritage.
The second of nine Golden Mile of Galway Talks and Walks takes place this Sunday 16th Feb. in Lackagh – starting from Lackagh Parish Centre – .
The following week on starting in Craughwell Community Centre. The following locations are

Sun. 2nd March 1-4pm Solus Resource Centre, Headford,
Sat. 8th March 10-1pm Killimor Hall
Sat 22nd March 10-1pm Tuam Stars GAA Complex,
Sat. 5th April 10-1pm Glenamaddy Community Centre
Saturday 12th April 10-1pm Ballymacward Hall.

We recommend you wear warm clothes, rain wear and suitable footwear.
There will also be a DVD viewing about the Golden Mile of Galway Competition which has been running for the last 10 years and from that 149 Golden Miles have been developed by local communities many award winning. This is a lovely project for a community to come together, to share knowledge and stories as well as discovering some previously unrealised treasures.
Community Groups Interested in entering the Golden Mile of Galway Competition in the next few years are encouraged to attend as this will be a valuable element and training for your entries.
