From Club Chairman
On Thursday 27th Coiste Chontae Iomana na Nog held their annual convention. Part of the proceedings involve naming a juvenile club of the year (1st, 2nd and third place).
Clarenbridge took 1st place & Athenry won 2nd place. Killimordaly were named in third place.
There are a variety of factors involved in the judging such as:
Appearance - how our teams are kitted out and how they act on and off the field, How our and mentors and coaches conduct themselves, Fair Play and the list goes on. Being successful on the field is a part of it as well of course.
Killimordaly are in extremely good company with this award as 43 clubs competed in Juvenile hurling in 2014 with just 3 clubs receiving an award. Huge credit for this recognition goes to everyone involved so the Managers and Coaches of our teams, the parents and Grannies / Grandads & other family members for doing the taxi service to training and matches and who do a lot of the laundry as well!!. Of course we should remember the pitch committee and others who look after our grounds and clubhouse and who do a great job. A thank you also to our secretaries who make sure we have everything in order.
Of course this is not a one hit wonder by any means. The foundation has been built over the years so that now we have good coaches and facilities so a huge thank you also to those involved over the years at all levels. The most important thank you is left for our Players. At all grades they are an absolute credit to the Club and long may that continue.
