Budding Hurlers!

Calling all budding Galway hurlers – your chance to train with Champions!
Hurling stars Iarla Tannion and Cathal Mannion are coming to Pearse Stadium on 25th July for Centra’s community hurling event

This year, Centra celebrates its sixth year as sponsor of the GAA Hurling All-Ireland Senior Championship.  Throughout the summer, Ireland’s largest convenience retailer is bringing together hurling’s ‘Champions of Healthy Living’ through thirteen community hurling events taking place all over the country. The events, which have returned for a fourth year, will see some of the country’s finest inter-county hurling stars travel the length and breadth of Ireland to give heathy eating and training tips to the next generation of hurling stars.

On Saturday 25th July, one of the thirteen community events will be hosted in Pearse Stadium with two of the county’s biggest hurling stars, Iarla Tannion and Cathal Mannion, on hand to give budding hurlers from local clubs the chance to learn from the best and develop their game.

Centra will bring the whole community together as local families enjoy a fun-filled day out! There will be special hurling skills session for the kids, lots of family entertainment including face-painting, a hurling simulator, a delicious BBQ and music from Galway Bay FM. Both the young and old will also receive healthy eating tips on the day to ensure they can eat like a Champion!

This family fun event is supported by the following participating Centra stores; Monaghan’s Centra Tuam Road, Murphy’s Centra Tuam, Holmes’ Centra Ballygar, Kearney’s Centra Lough Atalia Road, G&L Centra Newcastle, Centra Oranmore, Casey’s Centra Renmore, Murphy’s Centra Castlegar, Glynn’s Centra Carnmore, Nestor’s Centra Doughiska, Raftery’s Centra Claregalway, Raftery’s Centra Corofin, Hennigan’s Centra Clarinbridge and Higgins’ Centra Labane.

To sign up for the event, register in participating Centra stores. The event commences at 10am on Saturday 25th July in Pearse Stadium. The hurling skills session is open to boys and girls of all standards from age five to twelve.

This summer Centra has introduced a special new GAA endorsed product range, perfect for all budding Henry Shefflin’s. The range is convenient for all the family and is perfect for when you are on the go during those busy summer months. It includes a variety of low calorie sandwiches, along with delicious ‘Fruit Pots’ and nutritious strawberry and mango smoothies – one of your 5 a day.

Centra, with over 460 stores nationwide and at the heart of local communities, is continuing to work with the GAA to promote and develop the game of hurling for all ages right across the country; in both developing and well established hurling counties.
